Thinking about a career in psychology and I have a few questions...?

Well, all my life I've been interested in psychology and I'm pretty sure that's what I want to do when I get out of high school. However, I'm not really sure how much money they make or how long I would have to go to school. I don't know much about the different degrees (I'll be the first person in my family going to college!) so if you know anything related to that that can help me that would be great. I don't have any really straightforward questions just like basic stuff. Also, can anyone tell me a University that offers a good psychology course near Modesto, CA? And I know that I want to do something with young children or teenagers (mostly teens) so if you could think of a career that relates to psychology in that area I would appreciate it =). I know this is really vague so pretty much if you have any advice for me, thanks lol
