Do guys look at you a lot when they like you?

There is a guy in my homeroom that I desperately like. He might like me to but I want to know the right signs. I look at him more than I would if I didn't like him, i guess. He looks at me even when I don't look at him first. He doesn't talk to me a lot but does that mean he is shy? Does he like me? I need to know.
