How to break a child from co-sleeping?

My son had been sleeping between me and his father since about 6 months... it was the only way we could sleep... but now at 14 months its starting to get annoying he lays all over me and turns sideways in the bed, and occasionally I would like to snuggle my hubby... any advice?
