Pendulum users only please?

I am learning to use a pendulum for divination and such. I purchased a rose quartz one and things were fine until this morning I took it out of it's bag and found that the tip of the crystal had broken off! Is it ruined for pendulum work now? I can't find the tip either. Do I need to get another one?
